Via the Texas Tuesdays crew...former Texas Supreme Court Justice Rose Spector, is considering a run in the special election to fill the House seat recently vacated by state Rep. Elizabeth Ames Jones. Jones was tapped by Governor Perry to serve on the Texas Railroad Commission. Other potential Democratic candidates include Melissa Kazen and City Councilman Chip Haass. It's a Republican-leaning district but this is a great opportunity to apply some of the lessons learned from the last election cycle and pull off an upset.
The election is scheduled for February 5th so expect things to move quickly. I'll post more information as it becomes available.
