Dave Barry's pee-in-your-pants-funny columns are directly responsible for my rabid media consumption and political obsessions. When I was a kid, I started reading the newspaper for the sole purpose of spewing half-chewed particles of breakfast cereal across the table as I chortled over his booger jokes and sarcastic political commentary. While I haven't read his column with any regularity in years, he still holds a special place in my heart. Best of luck in your retirement, Dave. You'll be missed by fourteen-year-olds everywhere.
